Shipping almost complete

Shipping is almost completed and tracking numbers have been posted for around 90% of orders. All metal units have been shipped, and we are working through the final few orders, which are mainly Terracotta and Blue plastic units. We should have all tracking information posted within the next week to ten days, and will issue another update once we have finished shipping. All orders with tracking numbers posted should arrive within the next 1-2 weeks, but please allow up to three weeks. Please also check the tracking to ensure your order has passed customs safely and is not being held pending a check with you, the end recipient. It's been great to see some backers from our first shipping wave receiving their items already and using the product!

Dear Supporters

Thanks for your continued patience as we completed production of our plastic units. We are now ready to begin shipping, at last! We are so excited to get Soapstones out to you all as soon as possible. 

In order to do that, we need to lock your addresses for shipping. Backerkit will send an email notification asking for any changes (which can also be completed at soapstone.backerkit.com), and we will lock addresses in 48 hours. Please send us a direct message with any concerns and we will be available to help out. If you have already messaged us with an updated address, this will be edited manually before shipping. 

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR ADDRESS IS ACCURATE. Due to the expensive cost price of Soapstone products, it will be extremely difficult for us to ship large numbers of replacement items due to incorrect addresses, so please ensure that your address is current, and that the package can be received at that address for the next few weeks. 

Tracking numbers will be uploaded in bulk to Backerkit as shipping completes. 

Smoketest shipping

In order to ship out accurately, we will first be conducting a "smoke test", where we ship approximately ~5% of total orders to customers in a variety of locations, to refine our shipping process for the remaining 95%. We will move on to the remaining orders shortly thereafter, and expect all orders to go out in the next ~2-3 weeks, but we ask you to remain patient while we work through the very complicated shipping process - we have over 10,000 units to ship to over 3,000 customers, so we will take the time required to do this accurately to ensure orders are correct.

Production complete on metal units

Dear Supporters,

We are writing with another brief update as we get closer to shipping. We have finished production and assembly of the metal version of Soapstone (images attached). These are scheduled for QC and packaging next week. 

The plastic version is not far behind and we hope to be shipping within the next couple of weeks, with an update to come as we lock your addresses for final delivery.

Production complete - assembly underway

Dear Supporters, 

We are writing with a very quick update to say that production of the component parts for all metal units has finished as of last week, and that assembly, QC and packaging are well underway.  We have attached the latest images of production. 

The plastic units are scheduled to be produced this week, and as stated previously, will be much faster to complete due to lower volume and ease of mass production. We revised the final colouring on the white unit a little as we got our final samples, but are very happy with the latest version. 

We are getting closer and closer to shipping to you all, which is still scheduled for July. Our next update will come as we need to lock your addresses for final distribution.

Manufacturing progressing well

Dear Supporters

Manufacturing update

We are happy to be writing with another positive update. We are proceeding according to our revised timeline and should be concluding production at the end of June. You can see below in a picture from last week, our metal Soapstones waiting to be anodized and assembled. We feel confident in our ability to complete manufacturing, QC, and packing over the next ~4 weeks. This puts us on track to be shipping out in July. 

Packaging

Our packaging has all been completed for the over 10,000 units we will be shipping out! It is all ready to receive your Soapstones once they roll off the assembly line. 

Plastic Colour Samples

We have received the final samples of our Terracotta and White plastic Soapstones. We are waiting to get these in hand (next week) to approve these colourways and add them to production of the Blue plastic unit. The volume of these is low and the production of the plastic unit is much faster, so these colours should not hold us up. 

Addresses

Please make any changes at http://soapstone.backerkit.com or via direct message, and we will make the update manually. We will issue a final update before shipping, and there will also be a "locking" email sent out. Bear in mind that units should reach you mid/late July, so please update your address accordingly. 

Please ensure all addresses are up to date. We will upload tracking information for you to follow your order as it comes in. At the end of June (approximately) we will post a final call for address updates.
